Alison Hoffman
Based in the company’s Santa Monica office, Alison Hoffman is President of STARZ Networks. An exemplary C-Suite leader, Hoffman is responsible for driving success at STARZ with a broad oversight that spans content-related responsibilities as well as business revenue and operational focuses for the company. She oversees all content acquisitions and key network operations across both US and Canada including distribution, marketing, publicity, product development, analytics and program planning.
She continues to be instrumental in STARZ’s success as one of the only profitable streamers and the industry’s partner of choice. Hoffman has helped lead the company through a successful digital transition, optimized pricing strategy to drive business growth, and she ensured the successful launch of several hit series including five series that deliver 9 million to 12 million multiplatform viewers per episode. Hoffman was instrumental in creating an innovative retail app bundling functionality for the company, allowing STARZ to offer customers a bundled offering that users can opt into with ease.
Hoffman was one of the key executives responsible for launching the STARZ app and manages the network’s direct-to-consumer business. She reorganized the business and built world-class performance marketing and analytics departments from the ground up, setting it up for success in the streaming landscape. Additionally, Hoffman works closely with wholesale partners, including Amazon, Hulu, Peacock, Roku and Apple along with the entire ecosystem of both traditional and digital platforms to successfully drive revenue.
Hoffman previously served as Chief Marketing Officer for STARZ. In this role, she was responsible for spearheading brand and content marketing for the network, driving acquisition for the STARZ app and delivering data-driven insights that support all facets of the business. She also directly oversaw creative strategy, media planning, acquisition marketing, product development, social marketing, program operations and analytics.
During her tenure, Hoffman has positioned STARZ as the premium streaming platform for women and underrepresented audiences and an advocate for representation on and off screen. She oversaw the execution of the company’s bold “We’re All Adults Here” brand campaign, ultimately solidifying its place as the purveyor of premium entertainment for adults.
Hoffman was at forefront of the strategic content acquisitions trend by recently acquiring “Three Women,” starring Shailene Woodley, “Mary & George,” starring Julianne Moore and “Sweetpea,” with Ella Purnell. Hoffman has also set a stellar example for the industry on building and expanding franchises through her work on “Outlander” and the “Power” Universe, both which celebrated 10-year anniversaries in 2024 and continue to build their fanbases with several spinoffs and prequels.
Hoffman has been named to Variety’s “Annual Impact” Issue and “Women's Impact” Report, Multichannel News’ “Wonder Women in Streaming” Awards and “Women to Watch” List, as well as Cablefax’s “Most Powerful Women” and Media Play News’ “Most Important People in Streaming” and “50 Women to Watch in the Digital Entertainment Business.”
She joined STARZ in 2012 after serving as Vice President, Creative and Brand Strategy at AMC Networks, where she was a key architect of award-winning marketing campaigns for series such as “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.” Prior to working at AMC, Hoffman was a brand and management consultant in New York, NY.
Hoffman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Brown University. A native of Westfield, New Jersey, Hoffman now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three sons.
